Mince pie making

We have been baking mince pies at KS4, and with Year 9. Students have understood the science of making mince pies, including dextrinization, caramelisation and ‘shortness’ without a soggy bottom.

Special mention goes to Lindsey in Year 9, who has demonstrated incredible design skills and excellent subject knowledge.
The delicious mince pies photographed were made by Alex H in Year 10, who consistently demonstrates excellent making skills.
