Girls rugby – a first for St Peter's

On Monday the first ever St Peter’s girls rugby team played a series of matches at Dorchester RFC in an event run by Bath RFC.

It’s hard to put into words just how proud I was of the Year 7 girls who have committed to training week in week out, come rain or shine! The more mud the better seems to be the case here!

The girls were outstanding and more than matched more experienced teams both in terms of their skill level and their immense physicality… everyone who saw them play were hugely complementary, and we’ll definitely be invited back! Well done to all the girls and I hope to have more join them next season.

They are definitely keen to have their own rugby strip – the boys one they had to use smells a bit…apparently!
