Remembrance
Today we remember and honour the servicemen and women who lost their lives in the First World War.
A representative from each tutor group attended a Remembrance Day service in the chapel this morning, followed by a two-minute silence by the whole school.
We were joined by Norman and Sue Pearce, representing the Christchurch branch of the Royal British Legion, where Norman is a standard-bearer. He was chosen to carry his standard at the Armistice Service at the Tower of London in 2014, where he planted the last poppy of the display. It was a great pleasure to have him represent the fallen on behalf of the Royal British Legion at our Remembrance Day service today.
Head Prefects, Maisy McEwen and Ethan Shepherd, laid a wreath in the centre of the pear drop.
History Teacher, Mrs Cecchinato, complemented the solemn occasion by a wonderful display at Southbourne.
