French/Food Tech Trip to Paris

The recent St Peter’s French and Food Technology trip to Paris offered students a rich and memorable programme of cultural, linguistic and educational experiences. The itinerary included visits to iconic landmarks such as Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse Tower and the Louvre, as well as a relaxing river cruise along the Seine.
Students also enjoyed two meals in local restaurants, giving them an authentic taste of French cuisine and culture. Language learning was a key focus throughout the trip, with students enthusiastically taking part in a French-speaking scavenger hunt that encouraged real-life use of spoken French, alongside listening and speaking activities led by our French-speaking tour guide during coach journeys. Cultural immersion was further enhanced through everyday interactions and bustling Parisian streets, truly bringing classroom learning to life.
Student behaviour was impeccable throughout; our students were respectful, engaged and supportive, forming new friendships across year groups and representing the school exceptionally well. Highlights included a twilight rooftop disco atop the Montparnasse Tower with views of the sparkling Eiffel Tower, a creative photography challenge in the Louvre, shopping in Montmartre (including a visit to Paris’s oldest chocolate shop), and, of course, Notre Dame and the Seine cruise. Special mentions go to Mr Wilder, who became an expert on jewellery thieves’ heists, Mrs Catchpole, our tour guide extraordinaire, and Mrs Hartley, who was very much in her element in the shops and markets!
