We received a really lovely message recently from a mother of two past pupils. Her children, Anitha Ann Varghese, who has now completed her PhD. in Virology and currently doing her Postdoctoral research in Nottingham University, and Dr Agith John Varghese, who has now been posted under Wessex Deanery to specialise in Neurology training in medicine.

After school, both of them graduated in Biomedical Sciences from University of Surrey. Thereafter, Anitha did her post-graduation in Virology at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She has worked as a Research Scientist for few years at Porton Down, a science lab in Salisbury. Then she enrolled for her PhD. in Nottingham University, which by God’s grace and the blessings of her teachers, she was able to complete recently and continue her postdoctoral research.

Whereas, Agith completed his medical training from Warwick Medical School in Coventry. He has been undergoing his training since then in several institutions. It was his deep ambition to get into neurology specialisation, and after years of hard work and support from his workplaces, he has secured this amazing opportunity.

They had come from India and joined St Peter's sixth form in 2002 and 2003. They could not have secured this achievement without the support and guidance from the teachers in the early days of their A Levels. I wholeheartedly appreciate the mentoring and advice that the teachers gave them. The positive influence and encouragement has helped them in overcoming the struggles they faced in their initial years.

Above all, they were able to learn from everyone they met at St Peter's and this has contributed greatly to their development as an individual, in their personal and professional life.

I would like to take this moment to thank each and every teacher in sixth form at St Peter's for their kindness, support and love that was showered on Anitha and Agith John during their academic years of 2002-2005 and 2003-2006 respectively.
