Spellbinding World Book Day

The Secondary library celebrated World Book Day this year with a Harry Potter theme. The day started with over 40 students from Years 7, 8 and Sixth Form taking part in their weekly reading mentoring session in the library.
Throughout the day, witches and wizards from all year groups joined in the fun by taking part in a Horcrux hunt around the school. Students also swapped their World Book Day vouchers for the £1 World Book Day books and browsed the pop-up second-hand book stall.
At lunchtime, the Art Department held a World Book Day themed Doodle Club in the library along with students taking part in guessing who was in the Hogwarts Gallery, the sorting hat tombola, design a magical creature competition and lots more.
The English Department fully embraced the spirit of the day as well, dressing up and incorporating World Book Day themed topics into their lessons.
All proceeds from the book sale and tombola go to the Reaching the Unreached Brother Lionel fund.
A huge Hogwarts thank you to everyone who helped out or joined in and made it a Siriusly super day!
Happy reading,
The Library
