We are delighted to share that Mr Martin Ridley has been awarded the UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador (Gold) accreditation — the highest level of recognition available through the UK Parliament Education and Engagement Service.
This award follows months of dedicated work promoting political literacy, democratic participation, and active citizenship both within St Peter’s and across the wider community. Mr Ridley’s achievements include:

Supporting a mock election and a range of UK Parliament Week activities with the help of the school librarians
-
Facilitating the 5th Wimborne Brownies in running two exciting democracy sessions, including Q&As with a councillor and their local MP
-
Creating resources such as a Global School Alliance blog and supporting students in producing a video documentary on Parliament
-
Sharing best practice with colleagues and encouraging wider participation in civic education
The Teacher Training Team at UK Parliament praised Mr Ridley’s “incredible commitment” and “inspiring work with students and colleagues.”
We are extremely proud of his achievement and grateful for the passion he brings to helping St Peter's students understand and engage with democracy.
Congratulations, Mr Ridley!
