AS1one: Speak Up, Stay Strong

This morning, St Peter’s School welcomed AS1one, a pop group made up of mixed Israeli Jewish and Palestinian Arab members who came to share their experiences and encourage students to break down the barriers that contribute to mental health challenges. The band, who currently live in the US, are on a month-long tour around England.
Over three performances to students in Years 7–13, they blended music with open conversation, sharing their own separate experiences of struggling with mental health, facing bullying, experiencing life as part of a racial minority, and navigating both neurodivergence and sexuality. Staff and students loved the performances, which brought an exciting and inspiring twist to the school day.
The group also spoke about the importance of being strong, believing in yourself, and reminded students to confide in family, friends, or school staff when they need support. They told the students about a competition and shared a QR code (below) giving them the chance to win a holiday to Euro Disney. Their honesty and energy resonated with Secondary and Sixth Form students alike, encouraging reflection on resilience, empathy, and the importance of supporting one another.
