Last one for the team

The final rugby game of the season and their final rugby game for our Year 11 students was an absolute belter!

Our opponents, Trafalgar School, are not regulars on our fixture list, but a chance meeting at an RFU event meant that the fixture could be quickly organised as a final swan song for both teams…just what we’d been looking for but unable to get locally in the Bournemouth area.

The teams knew nothing about each other and for once none of the players from opposing teams new each other either. Our boys played exceptionally well and although a little rusty initially, the game swung back and forth and became a hard, physical game played with fantastic spirit and sportsmanship. The game was drawn at 5 tries a piece thanks to a fantastic team and then an individual try by Dan in the last play of the game. Luca has led this group of boys from the front and I really hope that for all the boys their journey with rugby doesn’t end on that field today….but if it does, it was a cracking game to finish on!
