From former student to midwife!

Year 12 Health and Social Care had the exciting opportunity to meet former student Lauren Twidale, who has gone on to pursue a rewarding career in midwifery.
During her visit, Lauren shared her journey from studying Health and Social Care at St Peter’s Sixth Form to becoming a qualified midwife. She spoke about her experiences in the profession, the skills and qualities needed to work in maternity care, and the rewards and challenges of supporting women and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
The session provided valuable insight into midwifery and highlighted how the knowledge and skills developed through Health and Social Care studies can support future career opportunities. Those attending also had the chance to explore pathways into midwifery, ask questions and gain advice from someone who had once been sitting in the same classroom.
It was wonderful to welcome Lauren back to share her experiences and inspire our new cohort as they begin exploring their own career ambitions in health and social care.
We are incredibly proud to see our former students succeeding in their chosen careers and giving something back to the next generation. Thank you, Lauren!
